About the Author

I grew up in a small town in Gweru Zimbabwe and though I never really thought much of my career when I was younger I knew that I wanted to enjoy whatever career I would end up in. So I experimented a lot with my life including academics, sport even the other clubs I joined.

As I then went to university and subsequently started out in my working career life happened from realising that I could not join the profession I initially wanted to learning that progression would not always happen at the pace I wanted however, I maintained my curiosity about learning about corporate career spaces and how they worked. Through working extensively across many territories across Europe, Middle East and Africa I also realised that the challenges we face are very similar and we must keep an eye on maintaining balance between our professional and personal lives.

This book is what I had hoped someone would have told or given me when I started off in my career, hinted to me that at times things would be tough and I would come across situations that I thought were wholly unfair and how to navigate them.

At times just knowing that you are not the only person who has faced a situation gives you that ‘Phew at least I am not a crazy person feeling’ that inspires you to keep going. In all this, I hope just one of my experiences resonates with you.
